“If you love the Arboretum…”
Thought the Arboretum was the only go-to spot in Davis for a peaceful walk or a cute picnic with friends during your break? Think again — meet the Greenbelt!
The Davis Greenbelt is a continuous stretch of scenic parks, bike paths, and open spaces that winds its way through North, South, East, and West Davis. Whether you’re walking your dog, training for your next marathon, or simply soaking up the spring sunshine, the Greenbelt offers the perfect escape into nature — right in your backyard.
With more than sixty miles of trails, the Greenbelt is ideal for both casual strolls and long bike rides. Along the way, you’ll pass through bike bridges, tunnels, and endless green views. Just make sure to bring a map or keep an eye out for adjoining streets and neighborhoods — each section of Davis has its own unique set of greenbelts to explore.
Here are some sections of The Greenbelt we recommend:
North Davis: Covell, Northstar, Perimeter, and Senda Nueva Greenbelts
South Davis: Putah Creek, Rose Creek, and Willowcreek Greenbelts
East Davis: Green Meadows, Mace Ranch, and Wildhorse Greenbelts
West Davis: Aspen and Evergreen Greenbelts
And it’s not just greenery you’ll find — the Greenbelt is dotted with quirky sculptures like The Dominoes and A Dog on a Tricycle, perfect for an artsy photo-op. You’ll also discover playgrounds for kids, peaceful ponds, and hidden gems around every corner.
So next time you’re in need of a break or a little adventure, skip the usual spots — and let the Greenbelt surprise you.
